On the latest episode of the ‘Where’s The Money Gone?’ podcast, former Sunderland and Charlton Athletic director Charlie Methven marks my card about David Kogan, the government’s preferred choice as Independent Football Regulator.
Charlie explains that the legislation has been designed to force the Premier League to seek compromise with the EFL over the distribution of broadcasting revenues, or risk having a settlement imposed.
He also defends Wolverhampton Wanderers decision not to seek promotion to the Women’s Championship, explaining that it would lead to a significant financial outlay for the club, without any obvious rise in income.
